About Me

I am Julie-Ellen Carmichael a BACP accredited psychotherapist-counsellor. My codes and ethics are: BACP and Constituent of UKCP. I am based in Somerset, and when necessary I can travel covering a 20 mile radius from Bridgwater, Street, Wells, Taunton, and the nearby villages.

I have been working in my own practice since 2004. I take referrals from BUPA Employee Assistance, I have also worked for S.D.A.S. I have considerable experience in the Drug and Alcohol Abuse field - having worked in Mental Health for East Devon PCT.

I have experience and special interest in; Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Health-Related issues, Pregnancy Loss, Relationships, Self Esteem, Stress, and Work-Related issues.

I also worked for the Nelson trust with their probation department, and for three years, I worked with Avon and Somerset police alcohol and drug unit. This experience is a huge advantage when working with rehabilitation and abuse lending a valuable insight into the struggles you may have with substance abuse and difficulties that dependency has on family life. Patience, empathy and listening skills are key.
